Sometimes when I dial a new number on my BlackBerry, I look back at my call log later in the day and notice that somehow the BlackBerry has found and downloaded contact information for the number I dialed and actually SAVES this in my address book... For example: I call you at 5755551212. Ive never met you in my life and much less have you in my adress book. Suddenly about an hour, your NAME and ADDRESS are in my Address Book. How does this happen? Really! Is this a normal occurence? Has anyone else experienced this? |

I have a BlackBerry 8900 but I have a Pearl that did this as well. I am currently running OS 4.6.1, was running 4.5 on the Pearl. I also have Google Maps, and just barely downloaded the newest version of Google Search. I have always had these apps and wonder if they have anything to do with this phenomenon. Any concrete answers would be great! |

I'm pretty sure Google Sync or SkyDeck does it... GS I think. Because of the list those are big two that deal with phone numbers and only two I have of that list and I was wondering why my phone did this the other day. ~via smartphone mobile.pinstack.com~ |

YES!! It is Skydeck! I tested it out last night... I just thought it synced my exisiting contacts with the online database, but apparently it also finds information for contacts that aren't already in my address book! How cool is that? Thanks everyone! So for those that want this feature...download Skydeck! |

You do have the app for the BlackBerry right? If so, then make sure that 'Sync my address book automatically' is checked off and then you can click on Sync Now... and see those digits in your call log switch to names and added to your address book. I've noticed that it works better for land lines and business numbers. The occasional cell phone number will download contact information. |

Then you go to My Account -> My Plan -> I need to download the mobile sync client again -> Wait for a message from Skydeck, then click on the link to download. |
