I've compiled a list of useful shortcuts for BlackBerrys; you need to do most of these from the homescreen unless stated otherwise. If you have any others, please post and add to the list! I wrote this list when I had a 8310 Curve; I have since upgraded to a 8900 Curve and haven't tested these on that device.
ALT + NMLL = Signal Strength in dBm instead of bars
ALT + RBVS = View HTML source in BB browser
ALT + RBLD = Forces data structure rebuild when in address book
ALT + VALD = Validates data structure when in address book
ALT + ESCR = Shows system status / IMEI, etc
ALT + SHIFT + H = Same as above
ALT + LGLG = SHows device event log which you can edit / delete / copy in to an email
ALT + (RIGHT) SHIFT + DEL = Reboot for most devices (Thanks Gots2beme!)
ALT + VIEW = Shows RefID for the item you are currently in
ALT + CNFG = Shows advanced options when in the Enterprise Activation screen
ALT + ESC = Swaps between applications like ALT+TAB on Windows (Even 3rd party apps)
ALT + P = Shows phone call log from within messages folder
ALT + Enter = Swaps input language in text field or home screen
To insert your phone number in to a text field, type mynumber<space>
For you device info, type myver<space>
To get your device PIN, type mypin<space>

Reason: Error in reboot hotkeys
Welcome to the Stacks! And already contributing! Excellent post...much appreciated information
You're welcome! In the last two years I've migrated from a 7290 -> 8100 -> 8800 -> 8310 -> 8900 as my I.T. work mobile (quite lucky in that sense). I'll chip in with a few tips if possible....
Just wanna add that ALT-(right)SHIFT-DELETE will indeed work on the 8310 for soft reset. I use it all the time!

And it works on the 8900 too! Very cool.... Original post edited.
LT space - for current time and
LD space - for date
Both in a text field.
Sweet..I knew a few of those guys..But awesome on the rest. When you switch signal meter to dB is lower or higher better? Or wait, is it closer to zero better? DOH
That list looks very useful indeed - anybody got any idea how to enter them on the Storm?
ok, I discovered
(!?123) + ",(!?123) + \,(!?123) + ",(!?123) + \
brings up the device log which is the one I needed for now - will try to work on some more "translations"...
(EDIT: Hold (!?123) until it locks, then you can just type " \ " \ MUCH handier...
Thanks for the hotkeys.
