    Blackberry cache problem

I've notice that if I don't clear the cache on my bb after every visit to this site, it will pull up the unrefreshed page. Yesterday I posted a thread then couldn't find the thread later, come to find out the bb was pulling up the old page. Uhhhhhhh

I have the same problem. Each time I visit a page on pinstack I have to clear all the cache in order to see a different page. Kind of cumbersome if you ask me.

    Re: Blackberry cache problem

I have that problem with a lot of forums. I think it has something to do with not being able to set "Check for newer versions of stored pages" to "every page visit" on your Blackberr Device Browser Options. I had the same problem with IE, on a couple of vBulletin based forums until I set that options.

No help, but it explains the problem

This doesnt happen when using Opera, that is a quick fix for our problem. I will read a post, reply if I have to, then immediately clear cache. After 1 or 2 posts it gets old. So I just use Opera alot.

Pretty sure it has something to do with the 4.1 operating systems. If I remember correctly, on my 7105 when it had 4.0 had an option in the internet settings where you could turn off the cache and cookies.

Annoys me too. The less I have to use my trackwheel, the better.

I will read a new post thread, post if necessary, move to the next new thread excetera, until all new posts have been read, Clear the Cache and reload the new Posts page. Repeat until no new posts.

    hope this helps.

N8 you don't want to turn off the Cookies, just the cache. Turn off the cookies and it'll log you out each time you load a new page.

    Hope this helps.

Someone needs to create a program that will clear the cache for you ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

    Re: Blackberry cache problem

Do you mean automatically, every time you exit a page? I don't know if I would like that, sometimes the cache will really save time when there are a lot of images on a page. It would have to be controllable, and if it wasn't automatic, it would be identical to using the Options capabililty.

I just wish that once you clicked on clear it wouldn't jump to the next option, I've cleared my cookies by accident more that once by double clicking instead of hitting the escape button.

Well, what 4.0 had/has if I am not mistaken is every time you shut the browser it will delete the cookies.

In all honesty, I wish there was an option like there is in Firefox that when you close the browser, you can have all cookies, history and cache deleted. I don't want some random person picking up the berry (always that chance) and logging onto web pages seeing where I have been or having me still logged into sites.
