I just saw this exclusive over on CB

"Holy FRAK. Here ya go. Just when were starting to get excited for the CDMA BlackBerry 9630, heres a first real image of the BlackBerry 9900 (looks like the image itself used in the Rogers document is from a RIM device simulator). This is what has been referred to as "Pluto" for sometime now."

Yeah it seems like a very cool venture for RIM to do a hybrid qwerty/touchscreen, and to eliminate the ball. I'll check it out once its released, but I don't think I'd be getting it just because it is a touch screen.

I am so torn about what to do. I will be contract free by Sept. I want a new BB now and have one upgrade available. But there are so many new devices, and with the upcoming freedom of choosing a new carrier my choices will be great. If only I can get myself to wait, not use the upgrade, and not tie myself to another 2 year contract right now.

Thanks for the info javatyger, love all these hints at what's to come, even if they do torture me

You're welcome AZ - we'll always be torn if we should get a new device now, wait, change carriers, etc. Its the nature of technology and cellphones in particular - things can change overnight. I'm sure there a few Bold owners that are kicking them self's in the butt for not waiting to see what else was been released, as I'm sure a few would love to have the Javelin or the Storm. At least with Rogers I can upgrade once a year (although having to renew my 3yr), but I'm ok with it.
If we all keep reading the Stacks, we'll be one step ahead of the game.

my guess they'll still keep the trackball around because there are users which prefer the trackball/physical keyboard over touchscreen or touchscreen/physical keyboard and of course suretype will always be around for their smallest size phone line just my opinion though

I think if they go touchscreen then the trackball is gone. We will see. I like the pics of the new 9630 on crackberry.

ah after reading my post again i think it came off wrong i meant as in they'll still make phones that have the trackball because some will prefer that over the touch screen or atleast slowly phase it out rather then suddenly but i could be wrong
