BIS-B vs TCP for apps like Berryweather

A lot of the apps have the option to connect via BIS or direct tcp and I can't seem to tell a difference in performance between them on tmobile. Just curious if there were any advantages either way.

To make it simple and easy when you're using BIS you're connecting to the internet using RIM servers and when using tcp via carrier servers, so when there is a bis outage some apps will still work using dorct tcp ie berryweather
