say you receive an email on your device and you are sitting at your computer and read the email on your computer.

Will it change to "read" as opposed to "unread" on your device?

This is one of my largest problems with the implementation of BIS. Since it's only guaranteed to be a one-way sync, the mail will remain unread on the device.

This isn't to say that it always works that way though. On rare occasions, it will indeed be marked as "read". However, my larger issue is that if I delete a message from my computer, it won't delete from my BB automatically.

This means that I have to filter all mail in my BB and then file messages to my folders on my PC after. I really wish RIM would implement true 2-way IMAP syncing.

Me too It would be automatic win for RIM.
