Lightbulb Best American cell phone company??

I am currently using rogers here in Canada but the txt messaging rules are changing so that all messages sent from Canada to the US will no longer be free. I would like to get a plan with an american cellphone company but need the following criteria:

    1. use of a sim card
    2. txting from Canada to the US free (domestic)
    3. cheap plan with - unlimited weekends + 400 minutes approx during the week minutes

    Any suggestions?

I think your best bet would be Tmobile. It's the company that's the most friendly with all blackberry related things. I have AT&T but I'm not so happy with how they handle blackberry data and messaging things.

I don't think Messaging to Canadian customers is free, but I am not 100% sure about that.

    I am also using T-Mobile.

Where are you going to use the phone? For example, I live in Wyoming and T-Mobile, Cingular and Sprint do not provide service here. They roam on other networks. I have Verizon, they do not support SIM cards, except for their "World Edition" phones. And I do not know about the texting to Canada.

If you sign up with T-Mobile and txt someone in the US from Ontario and are inadvertently roaming via Rogers, you may get hit up for roaming text charges.

According to the recent news, T-Mobile and AT&T are tied in 2nd place in customer satifaction and pricing according to consumers. Verizon was rated the best but if you must have a SIM card go with the 2 mentioned first.

tmobile is awesome but sometimes if your roam a lot they might cut your service off since it gets expensive for them.. so i would just call them up and see wuz up? ATT may you be working just for them lol

Price wise, T-Mobile. As far as service goes, I have never had any problems with AT&T or T-Mobile but I hear that Verizon has amazing coverage.

Tmobile actually has a little bit of covarage down at the south ontario! As far as I know, tmobile will be the best choice pricewise.
