Not to crush your idea or anything; sure, it would attract some younger consumers and open up doors for more first time blackberry owners, but I'd have to agree with chibipanda and surfanimal. I have a feeling it would be too much like the sidekick or that one enV phone from verizon. Teenie-bopper status!

I'd say no to a flip phone, but I'd like a slider. Maybe if there really is a touch screen bb coming out? only time will tell. I wouldnt want them to do away with the keyboard EVER, even on a touch screen phone. having a full qwerty keyboard is the best, imho.

As stated earlier a flip phone would break so easily. And the keyboard and screen will then be smaller.
Had 2 flip phones and will never have one again.
Very happy with the pearl and getting the 8310. Have being mobile since 1993

Isn't the RazR thicker than the pearl? The phone wouldn't have to loose size if that's the case...just bend it in half. I like the idea, though i dont like sure type.
Color---it's nothing but a hue of the rainbow...why do people place such importance in it?

The razor is thinnner than the Pearl..I really can't imagine a viable flip design integrated into the BB form factor. It would have to be a totally different departure from BB's current design philosophy. Even in a slider formfactor It would be unusually thick. Now if a totally new design was created for a Slider or Flipper I guess it could be done but seems to me it would not be in BB's best interest to spend the design time and money for a product that I can't envision would be as user friendly as the standard BB formfactor.
Blackberries are not for everyone. Some people just need to buy the Envy.

So, it's four zillion against the Flip idea, 2 for it. (Not 2 zillion, just two.) Guess I'm not going to ask you all to go to the next step with me and sign a petition?!?

It would need the trackball, instead of the side trackwheel, in order to make the keyboard lock unnecessary. Keyboard, it would need the SureType. Most Motorola Flip V-series keyboards are similar in size to the SureType I've seen on my old 7105, and the keyboard on the original V3 is substantially larger, so keyboard size isn't an issue. I think it's quite viable.
sure, it would attract some younger consumers
    I'm almost 55! I didn't realize I looked so young!

I think I could go for a bb about the size of my 8830 that is all screen with slider keyboard underneath it. ~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~

I would say yes to a flip. I have heard the rumors of new input systems and I'm sure RIM would design something cool. Even a larger clamshell or slider would be ok by me.

I would only say "no" to a slider if i couldn't have my customized themes!

Neither would really be smaller if you are comparing to a Pearl. And I've never had a flip break
