Not sure if everyone saw this one. A friend who has been following the case (his involvement is ancillary) sent this to me.

If NTP gets it way, they will still give BB user at least a year or something to make the conversion. I don't think this will happen. The U.S. Government has invested alot into using Blackberries and I don't think there is anything else that will meet their security requirements.

Too many unknowns here the way I see it. One of the reports said that the government employees, healthcare, anyone dealing with security (national), healthcare facilities, etc. and several other so called "exceptions" would be exempt. I heard 1 million of 3 million would go unaffected.

What about everyone else? What about contracts with carriers? What about Corporate America, communication, flow, etc.?

Too scary for a Tech Idiot to think about. Heck, I just bought one of these a month or so ago. What's going to happen to me!!!??? LOL.

There's a Blackberry backup/workaround from RIM so although a shutdown if one occurs would cause some disruption. It would be only a matter of some software upgrades/changes and for the enthusiasts like ourselfs we won't have to wait for IT BES admin to spoon feed us with the fix. Heak we're running Chinese 4.1 OS on our non-8700/7130 blackberrys

I left my BB in the car today at work. If I hadn't been so busy I would have been out there getting it. Can't use it much but I feel naked without it in my purse.
This whole mess doesn't phase me at all. If Tmobile had the 8700 I would be all over it. There is no way BB will be shut down.
