Battery Pull/Reset needed to RE-Enable Internet/BB Msger/Email ?
I searched and searched and could not find anything that adequate solved or described my problem (several friends experience it as well), sorry if this has been addressed in the past, I am new to the forums.
It will just randomly happen, my BB Messenger (PIN), Internet Browsing and Email services ALL stop working, I can't get anything to work, text messages and calling still works, but anything internet related stops functioning until I do a double soft reset or pull the battery.
Can someone please tell me what the issue is before I throw this thing out the window while on the highway!
PS. I'm on a Curve 8330!
Not sure about the 8330 but on the 8130 if u go to email settings , service books @hit send that usualy clears up the problems
Hi rust and Welcome to Pinstack!
That is not a common complaint. What operating system version are you using? (Options, About, 3rd line down). When this occurs what does your signal indicator say your connection is? Does it still show 1XEV?
Thanks for the welcome,
Hmm, I have a friend with an 8130 that has it happen as well. I haven't tried resending the service books yet
I work close to the USA/CAN border, so my phone is constantly switching between Roaming and Home service, but I have roaming enabled so it really shouldn't be a problem as I constantly have service for all of the things listed that aren't working
OS V188.8.131.52 (Platform 184.108.40.206)
It is really not common for data services to just stop working repeatedly. My first thought was a carrier / signal issue and I bet your issues are related to that roaming had off, especially if your friend has similar location issues.
There is a 4.5 operating system available for your device, 220.127.116.11 from Altel is the newest (you dont mention your carrier in your profile but you can use any carriers OS on your device). You may want to try an OS upgrade to see if that helps the situation.
Instructions for upgrading can be found HERE

Ugh, I had my first battery pull last night. Seriously I moved to a BB from my T-Mobile Dash because I had to restart the dang thing ever freaking day!!! We could put a man on the moon some 40 years ago, but we can't get a solid platform for our phones? lol Gotta love the dramatic statements...
(the above is sarcasm, in case you read it the wrong way!)
This has happened to me 2 out of the last 3 nights. I had to pull the battery out of my 8120 a few minutes ago to get my signal back. I don't know if it's my SIM card (3rd one in a year), service (my signal reception can range from 2-5 bars any given minute), or my phone (7 month old 8120). I was at an AT&T store today to get a phone for my dad (birthday present) and I was tempted to switch right then and there when I saw another phone I wanted.
