To answer the initial question, hell to the yeah, sorry for the profanity!

i have ownwed all types of handhelds before. I like palms for stability but i hated the fact that when it comes to software it is like owning a mac and wanting that new awsome game but it wasn't compatible with the mac. I liked the pocket pc for the memory and huge array of programs but i hated them because the rom chip os easy to corrupt and make the device inoperable. Blackberry now have the stability, a large array of programs and as long as the device is capable to powering on you can recover a corrupted rom chip.

incidentally, with cingular all you have to to set up your e-mail is log on to cingular blackberry site into your account and send a service book to your handheld. when you recieve it go into the options menu to the service book section and select and accpt it and your all done.

I think the Pearl is more about fashionista than function.

I know LOADS of people will disagree, its just my opinion.
Are you basing this opinion on actual use of the Pearl or just random speculation? If it's a functional Blackberry with camera and media capabilities then I definitely don't agree -- however, I'd have to use one before forming an opinion on it. I personally can't stand SureType so I'm waiting for the 8800.
