    Any ideas?

I have a dilemma. I have an 8700c that I bought 2 months ago. My employer bought me a 7100i. I really want to use the 8700c.

Currently, I have my 8700c calls forwarded to the 7100i. Cingular allows free call forwarding (only minutes from the plan). Nextel allows free incoming minutes.

I would really like to forward the 7100i calls to the 8700c, but that is a cost of $.20/minute. This would cause a huge overage.

Is there any way to use the 8700c as the primary without the overage? My employer will not pay for the 8700c alone. I have already tried that.

    Any ideas?

Use the 8700c as your personal phone and the 7100i as the company phone.

What about getting them both unlocked and just switching SIM cards?

Won't work, two different technologies. 8700 is GSM, 7100i is IDEN (I think, but definitly not GSM)

    Hope this helps.

Blah...Sorry. Didn't even really pay attention the carriers. Another instance of me just scanning over posts and not actually reading what they say (happens quite a bit).

Yeah, that is what I'm doing. But 2 Blackberry devices... that is overkill isn't it?

there's a problem with having two blackberries?
    you have two hands?
on a serious note i'm not sure what your options are....other than trying to get your employer to drop the 7100 and pay for the 8700

    Currently 4... a 950, a 7730, a 7100t and a 7105t (I SIM swap between the last 2 LOL). Have had a total of 7 but 3 got sent back.

I have heard many people on 2 forums I am on having more than one because they have one for personal use and one for work. That way you don't have an IT Policy on the one you want for personal use.

    Re: Any ideas?

One of the reasons I use my personal BB for business as well as personal use is so I can avoid the university poking around with my personal device. I forward my office email through BIS to my BB and have BIS pick up my gmail too. So, they have access to work-related email through the exchange logs but my personal email is clear.

I'd go with dual-BB's if my work required it, but I'd keep my schedule and other information on my personal BB.

    Sheesh...rambling again!
