Adv options -> TCP -> APN

    Hi all.
I'm curious of what are the APN option group under TCP on my blackberry's advanced options for. I got my BB from AT&T and it made some refference to cingular in there.
The rep for my current company deleted those and left them blank. I asked, and he told me that's something they do for every BB that's not theirs, but couldn't explain why.
    Anyone has any ideas?

It's how you allow third party apps to use the data...

But... is that for GPRS or it applies to EDGE as well? The reason I ask is because my provider's data plan only covers EDGE connection thru blackberry, but one has to pay for every kilobyte downloaded via GPRS thru their servers; and that's something I'm not willing to pay.

EDGE and GPRS are basically the same thing, as far as settings.
EDGE is just a faster evolution of GPRS
