Accessing files on an SD chip

I see that if I copy sounds, music or photos from my PC to the SD chip I just bought, my BB displays those files just fine when I go into Media Player.

What about data files? I created a \Data folder on the SD card, and put a couple .txt files in it as a test, hoping that I could open them in MemoPad. There doesn't seem to be a way.

I'd like to be able to copy Excel files from my PC to the SD on my BB and open them with GridMagic. Is this possible?

    Thanks,

    Mike

In "media," select menu-"explore" to view .txt files.

Grid Magic cannot read .xls files directly; they are converted with the desktop add-in.

However, Sheet to Go reads native .xls and is free with OS 4.5.

Make sure you enable Media Card support in options > memory (or media card)
Also enable mass storage mode (or set to prompt), then go to media as stated above > use the menu key left of the trackball > select explore > BlackBerry > your data folder you created.

With mass storage mode enabled, you can drag and drop files all day long using windows. Just make sure to unplug the device from the PC as you won't be able to view the files on the device until after its unplugged.
