    8800 vs 8110

I broke my 8310 last night, i have choice of the 2 handsets as a replacement as they have no more 8310 in stock for a couple of weeks

i know the 8800 doesnt have a camera, but otherwise how is it compared to a 8310?
i find the 8110 rather small and prefere the larger screen/keypad but really its a small 8310

anyone got any pros and cons for either? im swaying towards the 8800 and losing the camera for size at the moment.

    cheers

Are they going to give you a new curve when they do come in? The 8800 does have a wider screen and qwerty key board but it is an aging device and as you mentioned there is no camera.

I just got the the 8820 from T-MO for my BD. It was an upgrade from a Pearl. Aside from the lack of a camera, the full keyboard, and the speed is incredible! If you do go with an 88, be sure to upgrade to the 4.5, as I was advised to. It's FAB!

i can either wait for a curve or get a different handset, i dont wanna wait weeks but no, if i choose the 8800 or 8110 thats it untill my next upgrade.

    Is the 880o quicker than a 8310?

I bought the 8800 when it first came out and was fairly happy with it
My daughter recently upgraded from the 8100 to the 8310 and would not
go back. Problem with the 8800 is that it does not have WiFi either.
I have just changed from T-Mobile to att and bought a Bold which is much much faster
The 8800 seemed slower than my daughters 8310

Hope this helps. T-mobile has the 8900 coming out in a couple of weeks

I think it's kind of ridiculous that they're limiting your choices to those two devices, neither of which is your original device. I would (politely, but forcefully) demand they replace the 88xx or 81xx with the Curve when it's back in stock or that they give you a Bold!

Or how about an 8320? AT&T has that model Curve now. Only difference between the 8310 and 8320 is the 8310 has GPS, the 8320 is WiFi.

i did but they pointed out its a clause in my insurance to replace with a handset of the same value/spec (or closest) as some people use the insurance as a free upgrade to a better handset which is not what its meant for.

ive ordered the 8800, im due for an upgrade anyway later in the year so might look into getting a bold/storm/8900 then

That's crap that they're doing that. I broke a 7105t and I haggled for 2 hours at a corporate TMo store and 6 days later I had an 8100 at my door. My options at the time were another 7105t, a Dash, and some other phone but I didn't want any of those.

Just my opinion, I do like the 8820 a lot! It is super-fast, compared to the pearl I had. The full keyboard is super; this has WiFi and GPS. The trade of the camera for all the other stuff I mentioned, makes it a no-brainer, IMHO.
