Question 8800, I'm travelling to france

    Hi all,

I'm going to France for two weeks in April. I have T-Mo, with an 8320. I am scared (seriously. crackberryaddict..) about not having my cell phone work. I do have the wi-fi and everything in order to check emails, but I am interested in more information about actually having cell service, and whether or not I will recieve the pushed e-mails, text messages, phone calls, etc.

I know that you can purchase Quad-Band phones for international travel, and there's actually an 8800 for sale locally on CraigsList that i might purchase if i have enough information about all this.

Would buying that device allow me service when i travel? if not, is there anything i can do to make my 8320 work over there?

    Thanks in advance..
    Happy monday :-)

Your 8320 should work in Europe. You will have to add the International Plan on and get charged a per minute roaming fee if you are going to use the phone.

Buying a used BB can be tricky. Lots of pitfalls.

Did you think about getting your 8320 unlocked and using a French SIM card?

If you want to get on wi-fi, go stand in front of an expensive hotel
to get a signal. Worked for me in Paris.

By the way, the French pronounce wi-fi, wee-fee.

Have fun and tell us how it goes and/or PIN me when you are there.

Unlocking is what I'd recommend as well... Cause that waht I've done and it works fine with the int'l Sim card...
