If you can deal with suretype, lost of some shortcuts and a smaller form factor, then go for it.

    Re: 7100t v 7290

Well just to update you on the 7100T situation. I managed to get it, with the 507 error code. As i knew this was the case, i already had all i need to try and revive it.

Which i have done and its now running the OS4.0. All i am doing now is waiting for the unlock code for T Mobile so I can have it on my home network, and should i not screw that up later, i may even switch from my 7290...

My alternative is too trade the 7290 & 7100t for an 8700V/G....

    What do you think

    I would definitely trade for a 8700.

tmag, if you are used to a querty keyboard, IMO there is no contest! However, I know at least one person who has switched from a 72 series to a 71 series and is very happy! It depends I think on the amount of learning the SureType has been able to do and the use to which you put your BB. I got on ok with a 7100x other than internet input and that was a 'mare. Personally though, if you can afford to wait, it seems to me that the 88 series will be the definitive BB...

    Re: 7100t v 7290

    Ok well update time.
Managed to find an 8700g in mint condition for £100 = US$160 ish so got that, but even better news, i sold the 7290 (still sad about it) for £95.

So i now have the 8700g and the 7100T. Being a collector of phones, and now mainly BBs, it will start my collecton.

But yes to all those who said take the 8700. OMG its awesome, and whilst the 7100t is quite good looking aesthetically, nothing beats the 8700 imho.

    Thanks again

    tmag

p.s. I forgot to add, I unlocked the 7100T for £15 myself using a remote unlcoking service....
