The only issue the trackball has is the lint getting caught up in the mechanism. If you keep your BB in your pocket without a case covering the trackball this will happen eventually. It is easily cleaned though.

My track ball is unable to scroll up and down, It would still work it was just difficult to get it to respond. I'm really frustrusted because as soon as the warranty ends, the track ball stops working.

yes but be very very very when disassembling that trackball assembly, oh if i had a nickel for everytime one of my friends said they lost one of those little black rollers when trying to clean them

yea i must agree, your trackball is gonna get dirty no matter what. so its def worth doing every now and then

This happens almost daily for me. I think it's because I work at an oil change place and my hands are dirty all day. It got to the point last night that when I would press the "Menu" button it would pull up a Q then a E real quick. A 5 would be a 4 and Enter would be back. I just kept hard reseting it and today it works fine. Oh, it might also be the fact that I use the phone in the shower. Don't know.

RUBBING ALCOHOL AND A Q-TIP!!!!!!!!! thats all you need....if it doesnt work after that...you might want to take it all apart and do sum spring cleaning in there...but RUBBING ALCOHOL AND A Q-TIP WORK 90% of THE TIME.

if you have had the phone for less than a year, send it in and get a replacement. its covered under warranty. Otherwise use the enter key on the bottom right instead
