Hi, I inherited a 8100 Pearl from a friend (who sprang for an 8800) and now I'd like to delete all her phonebook entries (she really had alot). I could erase each entry one by one but is there a way to delete all the entries right away?

bel1river, Welcome to PinStack.

You can go to Options/Security Options/General Settings, Open the Menu and select Wipe Handheld. This will remove all user related data but leave the OS and Apps alone.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

Thank you very much for the welcome and the help!! Now, one more thing..why does my YM keep on dropping its connection. I am showing full bars...and one I received an error message that had something to do with "MDS" (sorry, I did not catch the exact error message). What is MDS?

With the Pearl ... if you just start typing the name of the contact you wish to SMS / EMAIL / CALL etc it will automatically bring up the address book and then give you the option to do what you want. Hope that helps.

You need to type it in using the multi tap method. Ie press #1 once for E and a second time for a R and so forth (on a pearl) hope that helps.

I just found out that while in camera mode... You can switch your flash setting from off to on to automatic by pressing the "#" key!

I have 2 newbee questions
1) Is it possible to create a shortcut for connecting to my bluetooth headset? Currently, I have to select Settings and then Options and then bluetooth and then I select the bluetooth device to connect to. Is there an easier/shorter way?
2) The address book only shows the names of contact - how can I change it show the name and the number?

1) when turning your BT headset on, it should automatically pair with the device if you've already paired them in BT settings (least mine does, and im using a motorola H500)

2) i don't think its possible. the only thing that i think you can change is whether it is first name, last name or last name, first name (options/language)
