well the best way to store your music is by having a media card. With the media card inserted you can connect your device via usb to your computer. You can load music 2 different ways at this point.
1) you can use the media manager in the desktop manager (you should've have loaded this on your computer by now. it's the disc that comes with the phone)
2)or once you connect the phone to your computer a seperate folder will display for your memory card. You can then click and drag your music from you music folder to your memory card folder and thats it. I hope that helps a little....

Thanks bartleby0, now i could get rid the app spell n dial that I dled...only problem I have is that it seems to double the letters randomly for some strange reason. I did just upgrade the firm to 4.2.1.96 and I wasn't able to try this with the old firmware I had. Anyone know if this is a bug in the new firmware or anyone else have this problem?

The only preinstalled app I've seen is send voice note, which is really limited and can only send by mms. I use VR+ by shapeservices which is an excellent app with many features and is free. If you pay $20 you get full functionality which allows you to send the recording via email or as a url. Don't know why RIM didn't include a voice recorder on the pearl...even my old nokia 3120 had one and I too think a voice recorder is very handy.
