What shortcut tool are you talking about? I was just wondering as I have never heard of anything like this.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Shortcut Tool (updated)

There is an app that allows you to create desktop shortcuts for any website that you choose. It's nice because you can just open your favorite websites right from the desktop without actually openning the browser.

Jeff, I don't believe that there is an OTA load for the Shortcut Utility.

Re: Shortcut Tool (updated)

Uhh.. I was hoping there was.. Anyway, I'm having trouble. I downloaded the zip file, went into desktop manager (app loader). When it asks me to choose a program I want to add, I click on it but then it's telling me that no apps for my phone were found. I'm unzipping the file and clicking on the alx file but it's not recognizing anything. If anyone has any insight, I would appreciate it.

Re: Shortcut Tool (updated)

Do you have the current OS for your Pearl installed on your PC? This is necessary sometimes for apps loader to add new apps. Just Download and execute the OS file which can be found from the links in this thread, Blackberry OS Software links (by carrier)

Hope this helps

Are you unzipping the file before you open Application Loader or from Applications Loader?

I actually Unzip the file, opened the app loader, clicked and dragged the alx file over the the app loaded and then click next. Every time I do this, it tells me that "no new application was found for your devise". I getting to really hate anything that's not OTA

Re: Shortcut Tool (updated)

I think what you need to do, is in the Apps loader, click the Add button, then Browse to the location of the alx/cod files and select the alx file. I don't think drag and drop works in apps loader.

Hope this helps

Hey Guys, where can I find some info on how to use this? I've downloaded it and installed on my Pearl, whenever I click on the icon I get "uncaught exemption: net.rim.device.api.system.ControlledAccessExceptio n" I've set all the permissions to "Allow" to see if that would help, but no luck.

Thanks Guys!
