Newbie here, just switched to the Pearl with T-Mo. I'm showing the earlier OS (and yes, I am able to disable the Dim feature). Am I missing anything grand by not upgrading? Since I'm new, much of this is intimidating at first. Thanks!

Hello, if you read through the 3 pages of this thread there alot of user testimony as to what changes or benefits upgrading to this OS would have.

And also why you should or shouldnt do it because its not a T-mo issued OS if that is your provider.

We were all newbies at once

Thanks DFC. Yes, that's kind of what I meant to get at, sorry. I'm with T-Mo, and was wondering if it's worth installing this, or if I'm missing out on anything grand (besides faster response or less lag). I'm worried about voiding my T-Mo warranty for something that might be minor in comparison. Thanks!

Don't worry about your warranty. Just save a copy of the older TMO OS and if you have issues, then reload it prior to sending it in. As far as I'm concerned, T-Mobile can kiss my ***. I will put whatever the hell I need to on that phone to make it work right until they get off of their *** and push a newer OS themselves that will make my $400 brick work like it's advertised to!

Whose with me?!?!?!

I think it's time for bed!

T-Mobile UK user

This is the first BB I've owned (come from Windows phones) and am loving it so far. I'm with T-Mobile in the UK and am wondering if anybody else has installed it who's also UK based?

I'm currently running with OS 4.2.0.51.

Thanks

Upgrade went OK for T-Mobile UK user

The upgrade went OK for me, but I have lost the BB browser now. I've only got the t-zones browser now and the option to change it doesn't list the BB one.

Oh well...guess I'll go on a hunt for it.

It's a slow download (no faster than 60kbps). I think there's a cap to the download speed from the blackberry server.

I've gone through the update, and personally my phone felt faster after the latest official T-Mobile update (aka the 02 update). I can't really see any difference in the telefonica update. Perhaps others do?

Right now what's annoying me is that I can't get these sweet new motorola bluetooth stereo headphones to work with the music player. I know nobody else can either, but seriously, I could use that update more than the repeated Brickbreaker updates that I get with each new OS.

Sigh, what an amazing feature that Blackberry is making us all wait on. Let's hope they get around to it by the time that Gamma comes out.
