New 8100 software Cingular App Version 4.2.0.71

OK now this is annoying the crap out of me... After installing the update, the hourglass keeps popping up. Doesn't matter if I am on the homescreen or not. I did a battery pull and it is still happening... hmmm any ideas or suggestions?

^^hey, when u finish update....can u tell me if the pearl loads up faster..the apps....music etc....and what are the difference between the older os and the new?

Don't know Stacey, I haven't had any problems with this update yet. Doesn't seem slow.

Well after a firmware update it takes a while for the BB to start back up. Just be patient Stacey. I noticed when I updated from whatever version it was before to .69 it took my Pearl about 10 minutes to completely start up.

yeah pretty much. also i am trying to get to the same point in alll of these threads so that others who stumbles across one of these won't be confused like how i was when i saw all three of these threads at once.

I did a battery pull and then it was fine, so if anyone experiences the hourglass keep poppin up after the upgrade, give that a shot and you should be ok. I must say that I haven't noticed any difference in anything.

LOL don't be, its not that bad... it takes all of 20 minutes and there really isn't any issues with this OS. Give it a shot... I dare ya

It DOES load faster than .69 - not sure why. Transitions are smoother too. Perhaps this is just an illusion, since they dont release any notes, but I like the responsiveness of this version better than the .69
