I went to tmo store today and the rep told me that the release date has been pushed back to sep.18. Has anyone else heard this?

I am seriously doubting it is. If they had had a press release 3 weeks ago, that would be one thing, but 1) it was just yesterday and 2) ive been in at least 5 t-mo stores in the past week, and they ALL have several units.
I am 99.999999% sure the 12th.

I have the 7100t and I think suretype is great. I never was really able to use t9 too well, but have the letyes in a qwerty layout makes typing really easy. Not to mention the form factor on the 71 series phones are a lot better than the other bb's. Can't wait for the 8100 to come out.

Thanks for all the warm welcomes, folks. I plan on joining the Berry league this coming week with either an 8100 or, if I like the "feel" better, a slower, cheaper, plainer 7105t. The one thing I really prefer about the 8100 is that I like to type sinistrally (lefty) and the trackball is in just the right place. The first priority is that it needs to be an excellent phone with a good calendar/scheduler and PC sync. The reading and writing are just for fun and games.

Either way you go, you will be happy. I have the 7105t and love it. I'd love to be able to get the Pearl (8100) but the price has to come down first LOL

You know what the RIM guys are doing right now? They're sniffing the air because they can smell all the money ROLLING into their wallets and 401K match funds plans.

Enjoy the Pearl, Waiting on the 12th now so I can get my 8700.

Are you getting a new one or just picking up a used one? I bet ebay is gonna be flooded with em from all the people that are selling theirs to recoup the cost of getting the pearl. Shoot, I might be one of those people. I still have not made up my mind

Only concern is the suretype keyboard......Hey anyone out there using suretype... How do you like it?

I love SureType. Much easier to type one handed or two handed. It learns your words that you use most often. Some people say it takes a week or two to fully learn the system but I learned it in one day.
