| Re: Increase available memory on the pearl djpapesh - Unless your carrier is the carrier that released the OS that you downloaded and installed, you have to delete a file called vendor.xml. Search for it in program files/common files/research in motion -- it's in one of the subfolders, but I forget which one. The file restricts the ability to load OS's released by other carriers; deleting the file removes the restriction. If you need more info, try searching for vendor.xml and you'll find lots of threads that discuss it. Most agree that it's perfectly safe to delete the file and install an OS released by another carrier (as long as it's GSM to GSM, or CDMA to CDMA).

If you're really curious, you can put your memory available in bytes into Google. For example: my Pearl has 41762320 bytes free at the moment. If I Google for "41762320 bytes in megabytes" it tells me that I've got 39.827652 megabytes free. 1 megabyte = 1024 kilobytes = 1048576 bytes. More info than you ever wanted to know, I'm sure. |

Teehehe... Sure glad that I made a backup file of my blackberry.alx. When the phone rebooted it was crazy looking with uncaught exceptions. REINSTALL!!! |
