Go to Options/Advanced Options/Media Card. Make sure that Media Support is set to ON. Open the Menu and select Format Card. See if that doesn't work.

Hope this helps

When i press menu, there is no option to select Format Card from. Is there any other way to format the Memory Card or any user guide that will actually tell you how to work the phone lol.

Re: How to: Install or Remove a MicroSD Chip

ok i found out why it wasnt coming up. You need to have the message, "check the memory card is formatted" or whatever it says, to come up before it allows you to format it. Previously i had the message that it was on mass storage or something and it wouldnt let me format it.

Re: How to: Install or Remove a MicroSD Chip

Very helpful thread. But after following everything carefully and following the instructions on the blackberrry website, I still can't get my card to work.

When I go to Options/Advanced Options/ Media Card it indicates states: "A media card is not presently inserted in the device."

I have tried to take the card out and put it back in, but it still does not recognize that there is a card in there.

Any help would be appreciated!

Check post number 18 in this thread:
http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com/137336-post18.html

Also disconnect your phone from the USB cable, if it was when you tried previously, and then see if the Pearl recognizes your card.

Re: How to: Install or Remove a MicroSD Chip

Thank you so much for the original post with instructions AND pictures. I had fumbled around for many minutes trying to figure out how to install the itty bitty MicroSD Chip ....... and I have excellent fine motor skills. But, the picture of how it needs to slide into the guides was the key!! THX, THX.

TORRESP1, are you running the most recent OS? .71? earlier versions do not support 2gb cards.
