I'm looking for a case like the one i had for my 7100. Sits vertical on a belt, slides up vertically. More a pouch so you take it out to use it.
Not bothered about the flap over the top though i guess that does offer security.
I notice there's a white one featured in the blackberry pearl flash pages, but this isn;t listed on the blackberry accessories site. Can anyone give me a heads up up this?
I just bought the Designio Leather Case, BlackBerry 8100, Vertical Flap

You dont have to take it out to use, but if you do a quick google search for Blackberry 8100 Leather Case, i'm sure you'll find quite a few as I did.

I just received my case from Blackberryden.com

http://www.blackberryden.com/pearloem.html

I ordered the case T-380251

Very fast shipping and SPECTACULAR QUALITY. I was actually very shocked at how nice this case is. It has the "spring clip" for your belt rather than the stationary clip that just slides on.

Great fit for the 8100 and maintains the BB holster functions!

Pearl User's Manual - 242 Pages! Download Here

Not sure if I posted this before, but here is a detailed Owner's Manual for the Pearl. It is far more detailed than the skimpy guides you get with the phone.

Simply right click and press "save target as" to save on your computer.

Bonus Tip: I keep a copy of this on my MicroSD chip, so I have it available at all times, on any PC. You could e-mail it to yourself and open it on your Pearl, but when I tried that it took forever to load. So that is not practicable.

Bonus Tip: Even Adobe reader comes with with a search function, so use <search> to look for words contained in your question, e.g., "battery" or "camera."

has anyone heard of the problem of pearls getting bad reception (newbie to the pearl, had a 8700 w/ cingular, but in college station tx, i was getting dropped calls like it was their job, so i switched to tmo and got the pearl) the sales rep says they are fixing it with the new OS patch...anyone know if its any better on rogers OS?? and what would u recommend i do, since i just started my tmo service, im still under the 14 days...
1) keep pearl as is and wait for patch
2) try out different OS
3) get the tmo 8700
any help will be great! thanks!!

Re: Comprehensive Blackberry Pearl 8100 Guide

So would you know how to turn off the music on the stand by (mute) button? I tried searching everywhere and have no idea what to do at this point, short of an hour spent on the phone with t-mobile and a complete reset.

Help. Please. Please. Please. Help!

Cingular has blocked the installation of Yahoo Messenger for BB. There is a thread on how to get it on your Cingular Pearl, in the Cingular Users Forum.

Hope this Helps

Re: Comprehensive Blackberry Pearl 8100 Guide

I just uped from the an 8700 to this...my question is this...is that trackball hard to use with my big fat fingers. I briefly glanced at one last week and the buttons and trackball seemed very small.

Also, does the predictive text work well? The other phone I have used that with seemed to be a nightmare.

Re: Comprehensive Blackberry Pearl 8100 Guide

I did the same thing about a month ago and find no problem using the rollerball and the keys.

The Pearl does not use Predictive Text, only Sure-Type. It does not complete the word based on a few key strokes, but only gives the most obvious letter for the key pressed, base on previous letters input. I find if I don't make mistakes in pressing the wrong key, it works well. But it is not forgiving to hitting the wrong keys.

Re: Comprehensive Blackberry Pearl 8100 Guide

I used to drop my phones on the pavement way too often. I'd forget it was sitting between my legs while driving then when I stopped and got out--plop! Down on the pavement or the running board or into the dirt of my driveway!

I don't have that problem anymore because the Pearl is so light and thin I can keep it in my shirt pocket. I've made a promise to myself not to ever store it between my legs when behind the wheel 'cause I know it will end up on the pavement sooner or later.

One complaint, tho. Even with the keys locked very slight pressure can cause the thing to beep at me. Beep beep beep beep! until I shift position. You'd think locking the keys would silence it but it doesn't.
