Cingular to get the new Pearl around January 07'!

Cingular revealed it will get its own version of the new RIM BlackBerry Pearl by latest the end of 1st quarter next year. The Cingular Pearl is expected to be largely similar to the T-Mobile version except that it also will support push to talk. *yawn* When asked why the carrier was taking so long to acquire the new BlackBerry, a Cingular exec said his company likes to test their devices rigorously. That's a plus eh!

Thats probably a good thing considering the issues that are being reported with the T-Mobile Pearl.

I hate the thought of waiting so long, but maybe they'll get the trackball problem squared away by then. Its interesting that the Cingular people I spoke to just yesterday, both at a company store and kiosk, had no idea what I was talking about when I asked them when they expected to get the BlackBerry Pearl. It was clear they had no idea what I was talking about.

hmm. the push-talk function could be useful, but for me personally id just get annoyed if it was anything like the chirp function on a nextel.

i wonder if itll be a newer and more updated verison of the pearl 8100

I heard the Cingular release date will be Nov 6th or close to that.

U are right about November 6th. As of this moment, that is the date that I have for the release. (with the Treo Nitro and Lennon, and the Samsung Blackjack between then and Christmas)
