Oh yeah, and iDEN is not being phased out, Nextel TDMA is being phased out. iDEN will still rule on other parts of the world, its just because Sprint and Nextel that US iDEN is going away.
iDen is actually a form of TDMA. iDen itself is not being killed, just phased out to the public sector and going to the private sector. iDen is a money looser for Sprint, mainly because of its zero upgradability.

You are right though, Motorola has a contract to support iDen until 2010 actually, but Motorola does not make blackberry's. Will we see an 87XX on iDen? Possibly. An 8100? Not likely.

Good point...

I saw someone mention a removeable memory slot under the battery? Now what kind of sense does that make? So in other words, if I want to put something on an SD card from my computer, then put it on the Blackberry, I am going to have to take the battery out, put the SD card in, put the battery back in and wait 5 minutes for my BB to boot up again?

Says Tmobile on the case, but Cingular on the screen.

From what I hear from inside TMO the 8100 should be out next month. This source has not seen anything on a full keyboard model but has had the 8100 for a while. The HTC Excalibur will also be soon and has a full keyboard but its not a BB.

Yeah, because using the USB cable would be much too complicated. RIM expects everyone to have a PC with a MicroSD slot but no USB ports so they deliberately designed the 8100 to be as inconvenient as possible.

Re: "BlackBerry 8100 cameraphone! Stealth revealed!"

I am sensing a bit of sarcasm in the last remark, but I am willing to let that go.

How about they just design it more inconvenient and go ahead and put the USB and Headphone jack located under the battery too, that would make sense.

If someone is planning on using an SD card in their device, would common sense not tell you that they already have an SD card reader (be it built in or aftermarket)?

To me, the whole point of an SD card is not to store on your device what you plan on downloading on the device (which you also can do obviously), bur rather downloading files onto the card with a computer and then inserting the card into the device.

To me its just a huge design error, not user friendly at all, and should be moved to a different, more accessible location.

Re: "BlackBerry 8100 cameraphone! Stealth revealed!"

I dont see me giving up my 8700 for this. 1) Its not qwerty 2) No trackwheel 3) whats with memory card slot under the battery? 4) Ill just to put the 4.2 OS on my 8700. Just as soon as N8 and Pentace figure out how. LOL!

i agree.

this is the same sort of cumbersome usability as my truck. when will they get it right and put the gas cap on the dashboard? then i can just roll the window down and reach through for the fuel pump. they know i'm gonna refuel at some point, so why do they have to put it on the outside so i have to get out of my car?!
