Love the form factor! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for GPS. While I'm not pressed about having a camera, I've definitely been waiting for the multimedia capabilities. I'm also not tied to having a trackwheel. A trackball would be perfectly acceptable to me. Given the candybar form factor, the faster processer and greater memory of the 8700 series, and multimedia capability, if it has built-in GPS I'm all over it, even if I have to switch carriers. If it doesn't have GPS, I'd have to take a deep breath, but I'd probably go for it anyway.

I'm looking forward to the touch screen with full keyboard and scroll wheel.. I still need encryption for all BB phones we issue. That is why I love the new Bluetooth CAC Sled, it will help me with all these new models.

Not sure if I understood statement however...

Blackberries already have encryption, for years now. 3des encryption and even more security measures using BES... AES encryption of all data (both e-mail and MDS traffic) that travels between the BlackBerry handheld and a BlackBerry Enterprise Server.

If only RIM would come out with a device for Verizon that had NO camera, Wifi, a full qwerty, still had the trackwheel, and....yeah I would be happy with that. RIM, whats your deal man? Lets see it! Until then, my 7250 is doing just fine.

Cool pictures but I rather wait for the full qwerty. Let's hope the trackwheel is still intact.

if they do get rid of it I can't see that being an improvement. Time and usage will tell.

The best thing in pics above... the removable memory slot.

I'm not being critical, so please don't misunderstand, but I honestly don't understand the overwhelmingly negative response to the possibillity of moving from a trackwheel on the side to a trackball on the front, particularly on a candybar phone which fits in one hand. I've tried to imagine it on my 7100i and I just don't are how it would make that much difference. But this is my first BB after several Palm devices. So, what am I missing here? BTW, I am assuming its a trackball and not a joystick.

This new unit looks nice. I don't mind suretype. I like the trackwheel but maybe a joystick is just as convenient. If only I could test this unit...

I agree Hydn, however, the one thing I ALWAYS seem to burn out is the trackwheel. Perhaps this will be more durable that the trackwheel. I have no idea why it would, but maybe. While I'd rather have the full QWERTY, I'll buy this the day its released from TMO. The secure digital card would be way too awesome. And if they release it a month later with QWERTY, I'm sure someone will buy this one off me.

Re: "BlackBerry 8100 cameraphone! Stealth revealed!"

I do like the overall look of it, but the suretype keyboard saddens me. I know they are trying to keep the size down and all but for us speed typers, Sure type slows us down to the speed of sound. Not warp speed like we are acustomed to typing... The memory expansion and video capabilities are awsome. Plus i see that it had a cingular logo. After one of our esteemed members gets a hold of one and reviews it for us(when it is released). I might consider biting the bullet and jumping back into sure type... Time will tell.

I can't believe the negative responses on here. Has anyone tried the "trackball" on the sidekick 3? It's actually pretty slick! I'm down for this phone, even if it is suretype. I really hate carrying a camera and a cellphone.
