No scroll wheel, sure it will give my thumb a rest, but isnt that the whole point of a BlackBerry? It looks verry nice though, count me in. |

Why did they get rid of the trackwheel? does this mean that the next full qwerty keyboard'd blackberry wont have a trackwheel? not liking the sounds of this! id rather keep my blackberry with my trackwheel then get a regular phone type blackberry w. no trackwheel but a camera... BUY A DIGITAL CAMERA

Now no trackwheel is just my speculation. It may be there, but may not. It was hard to tell. Im crossing my fingers we get a joystick and a trackwheel!

i HIGHLY doubt that RIM would get rid of the trackwheel; reading email via the jopystick would be PAINFULLY annoying. i personally think that the "joystick" would be used for media purposes

those questions asked, the trackwheel being replaced with a 5-way would place this higher on the mainstream usability and interest list even more than the camera. i monkeyed with the brightness of the pics, and the keys flanking the button look to be SonyEricsson style, with the 'berry-b's likely to be a "wheel-in" or menu key, and the arrow being an obvious "back" button. this will allow for more user-friendly ambidextrous use and give my right hand index finger a rest! |

The top selling smart phones at the moment from Nokia, Motorola, SonyE, HTC and Samsung (and probably others) are all devices with cameras in them. You may not see the point of a phone with a camera in it, but a lot of other people do. And it's a trackball. No trackweel on the 8100. RIM don't want to alienate left handed consumers. Obviously I know nothing about it but once you've used a trackball, you won't miss the wheel. |
