OK - Ive downloaded DM and OS 107 to my windows emulator (connectix) but when i plug in my pearl via USB, DM cannot find the device.

All help appreciated!

Is the emulator recognizing your USB ports try other USB devices and see if they are recognized, I have seen some emulators do and other dont recognize all hardware or input jacks

The emulator used to work fine with the USB port - then I had a major crash and I had to reinstall everything. I have a printer plugged in but the emulator does not recognioze the fact that I have USB2.

I've given up and will try and find a windows machine.

If you have a copy of windows, you could run bootcamp to switch over to windows. Check apples site for more information on bootcamp.

I have a G4 Mac and not an Intel chip Mac so I do not think Boot Camp will work.

with the intel chip mac you should be able to run boot camp

I have the power PC G4 Mac so Boot Camp is not an option.
