Re: Anyone know how to do a hard reset?

Please help!!! I just recently purchased a Blackberry Pearl 8100 and I ran the Desktop Software. I clicked on the application loader and ran it.. Now I am not able to view pic's, music, videos, everything in the media.. It says e.g. unable to display file/device memory/samples/pictures/bbmango.png.

I am getting frustrated 'cause I just got the unit replaced.

Thank You to anyone who can help..

You need to go one step back and think of any new apps you loaded which could be the cause of your probelms.

Actually I didn't load any apps. I just ran it. I've tried the suggestions above already, but to no solution to my problem. Thank you for replying.

Just used the "hard reset" (Options/Secuirty/General Settings/etc.), and while it does wipe all your contacts, messages, media and customizations from the phone (not your memory card), it does NOT remove loaded applications.

Hense it not being a "true" hard reset.

Nope - if you want a truly clean wipe you need to try JL_Cmder and start from scratch.

Re: Anyone know how to do a hard reset?

manutdfan - what are you trying to accomplish? if you want to restore the bb to factory settings, the "wipe handheld" on the bb will fix it right up.

if you want to remove EVERYTHING then then jl_cmdr will be your option. NOTE: it will remove everything, including the OS. after the java wipe, you will have to restore the OS on your BB using desktop manager.

ps...welcome to the stacks

Re: Anyone know how to do a hard reset?

I've installed some 3rd party apps and now I cannot get rid of them! I am a MacOS user (PocketMac, Missing Sync) couldn't solve the problem. Couldn't erase them with the DM as well! What should I do? I thought about erasing everything (including the OS) but as my carrier is from Brazil, I'm not sure which OS version to use!

It tries, the hourglass spins then I get the screen message Device Error: 400 Reset. When I reset, it repeats the cycle.. Any ideas how to get it back to default settings... HELP!
