Re: How to: Use your Blackberry As Modem with your PC.

I have been able to connect with my XP PC to Curve on T-mobile as a tethered modem on USB, but it is very prone to freezing data transfer, especially with rich content websites and playing web video and flash. The connection stays up in the "connected" state, but no data will flow. Eventually the browser times out. Tmobile techs say to recover by removing the battery, which restores the BB to operaiton, but the next time the tethered modem is used, the problem repeats. Any ideas?

    johann,

What carrier do you have? I have a brand new 8100c w/AT&T and haven't tried this yet because they (my carrier) said it doesn't work on the 8100 Pearl , you need a 7000 series or a curve I was told? I'm very excited that this MAY work. I'm going to try tonight.

    This worked well for me.
However, I had a sony ericsson plug-in wireless card, and I tried putting the card from my Blackberry into it, to my delight it works perfectly, and uses the BB data subscription, which with TMob, is all inclusive. IF you have EDGE, you can also use Skype! For a cruising sailor like me, this is magic!

How do you do this with Windows Vista and 8330 on Sprint? Could someone give step by step instructions please? I'm new to both Vista and bluetooth and the Curve! I'm clueless but I really need to get on the internet with my laptop when I'm out of town. Thanks
