Anybody done this with alltel yet. The phone is a 7130e and I have wireless connection for internet now. Any directions would be appreciated, especially for using a wireless connection(once) and Alltel. I would like to get rid of my service provider and use the blackberry as the modem. h_edmisten at yahoo.com Thanks, Hunter |

I can get up to step 4 but when selecting the connection in the Desktop Manager my standard modem is COM7 and the selection only goes from USB, COM3 to COM6. Is there a way to add the standard modem COM7 manually in the desktop manager?

I wonder if anyone else has this problem. I'm using the Curve 8320 as a modem for my Vista laptop and I have to remove and replace the battery from the BB every single time I use it or the connection won't work. Sometimes I have to remove it twice to get a stable connection. |

For some reason Desktop manager is not detecting the standard modem, I tried changing the ports and it only detects the bluetooth modem and the laptop internal modem. I've tried pulling the battery out and restarting the pc. I can connect using the USB cable but would like to use no wires. I'm not sure what to do, has anyone encountered this issue xp?
