    1) What is the lifetime of non-delivered PINs?
    - If the BlackBerry is turned off (not receiving PINs), RIM will delete
any PIN messages pending after four days.
    - If the BlackBerry is turned on (receiving PINs), the PINs will remain
on the unit until they are manually deleted.
    - If the Blackberry is turned on, but you are outside the transmission
area, RIM will not detect your Blackberry, and it will be treated as
if it is turned off (not receiving PINs).

    2) Can I use my BlackBerry on the plane?
    - The usage of BlackBerry's on a plane is determined by the airline
you are flying with. Generally you will be able to use your BlackBerry
on the plane as long as the radio is turned off. Check with your airline
    before you leave.

    3) How do I scroll Left-to-Right or Up-and-Down?
    - If you click and hold the ALT key (quarter-moon), and then scroll
the trackwheel you will change the scrolling direction.

    4) Can I Change Tasks?
    - Yes, if you click and hold the ALT key, then click the Escape key
a task list will open. You can now select which application to switch
    to.
    - Hint: This is really handy for copying and pasting text.

    5) I tried to send an SMS message and it didn't work, what did I do wrong?
    - To send an SMS (Simple Short Message), you have to enter the 10-digit
phone number of the unit you are trying to reach. For example: 2045556666.

    6) My received messages are not showing up on my BlackBerry-6280, what do I do?
    - This issue requires a firmware update / reload.

    7) Can I hide some icons on the Home screen?
    - Yes, to hide an icon on the Home Screen, select that icon then press
and hold the ALT key (half-moon) and click the Trackwheel, now select
    'Hide Icon' in the menu.
    - To show all the icons again, press and hold the ALT key and click
the Trackwheel now select 'Show all' from the menu.

    9) Can a PIN be transferred from one unit to a replacement?
    - No. PIN's are device specific and therefore are non-transferable.
Email and phone numbers are however transferable from one unit to another.

    10) How do I create a speed-dial entry (phone models only)?
    - Hold down any letter on the BlackBerry keyboard for one second and
a dialog will pop-up asking if you'd like to assign a number. Once a
number is assigned holding down that key will automaticaly call the
    number.

Re: FAQ: BlackBerry Handheld Quick answers

Is there any way I can link phone numbers? I travel outside of the country a lot and, when I'm overseas, I would like to be able to have the foreign country access code added to the front of the phone numbers at home.

If you store the number with a + and the country codes (as if you were calling it from another country) the unit will automatically dial it as an international call when you are overseas.
