I actually was in the same position. Particularly for tethering, but the drivers don't seem to be Vista compatible.

you could run the software in Windows XP Compatibility mode to resolve this. I haven't tried it myself with the BB Desktop software, but other software I've gotten run on my Vista machine. I'll try it out and let you know.

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~i heard that microsoft wasn't providing much support as far as compatibility with blackberry devices. The main reason for this is that they want people to convert to windows mobile based phones...of course! This is what I heard at least, buit makes sense.

Thank goodness I still have a computer that is running on XP. I heard that Microsoft will also stop supporting XP next year because they want everybody to be on Vista. Bummer...

Fix the driver already. It is already there, just make it compatible!

~via BB (wap.pinstack.com)~I uninstalled the new version of office, then installed office xp, and use the bb desktop software to sync. Works like a charm.

There is a work-around. I was on the phone with T-Mobile for four hours, and they made it all work. Hopefully your carrier can help you, because I can't -- I just followed their step-by-steps.

M$ will support XP for years to come. Didn't they just stop or are about ready to stop supporting Windows 2000?

Mainstream support for XPis due to cutoff in 2009, after they release service pack 3, which knowing MS will break your XP, then you will have no support for it and be forced to upgrade to vista..unless of course you are one of the lucky ones who has a student version of xp which requires no registration/key

I use the current (4.2.2.14) DM with both Vista and Vista 64 and Outlook 2007. No issues here at all.

Has anyone figured out if it is possible to tether with Vista? I tried for hours and was unable to get it to recognize as a modem. If anyone has done it, I would appreciate knowing how.

    Thanks.

one more thing....so i'd have to buy ms office 2007, to get Ms outlook and then be able to sync contacts and calender as i did with xp. Now is there a version of ms office that will work with Vista? All the ms office programs only say compatible with Xp?
