    How to: Clear handheld databases using Backup and Restore.

    BlackBerry Handheld Software version 4.0
    BlackBerry Desktop Software

    Advanced Backup and Restore option using the BlackBerry Desktop Manager. You can Clear Address Book, Clear Calendar, Clear Contacts, Clear Memo pad and Clear Tasks

    Prerequisite: Access to the desktop computer is necessary to complete the following steps.


    Starting the Desktop Manager software:
    • From the Desktop select the shortcut icon for the Desktop Manager software.
    • If there is not a shortcut for the Desktop Manager software, select Start > Programs > BlackBerry > Desktop Manager.
    Clearing Handheld Database entries:
    1. Select the Backup and Restore icon.
    2. The "Backup and Restore" window will appear, select Advanced.
    3. A progress bar will display while the application data is being retrieved.
    4. The "Advanced Backup and Restore" window will appear.
    5. Select the desired Handheld Database entry and click Clear.
      Note: To selected multiple database entries for backup, press and hold the Ctrl key, then select the desired entries.
    6. A warning message will appear explaining the changes to cleared.
      • Select OK to proceed with clearing the entry.
      • Select Cancel to end.
    7. A progress bar will display while the application data is being cleared.
    Deleting Desktop File Database entries:
    1. Select the Backup and Restore icon.
    2. The "Backup and Restore" window will appear, select Advanced.
    3. A progress bar will display while the application data is being retrieved.
    4. The "Advanced Backup and Restore" window will appear.
    5. Select the desired Desktop File Database entry and click Delete.
      Note: To selected multiple database entries for backup, press and hold the Ctrl key, then select the desired entries.
    6. A warning message will appear explaining the changes to cleared.
      • Select Yes to proceed with deleting the entry.
      • Select No to end.

    Thank you boss, I have used this before to delete all my messages at once. I usually have thousands of them, and in many different subfolders.
