How To: Add or Remove Applications/Software/Themes (Desktop Manager)

To Add or Remove Applications first open up your Desktop Manger.
(Version 4.3 DM in the screenshots)

    *Requirements
    1. Desktop Manager http://blackberryforums.pinstack.com..._software.html
    2. Handheld Software(OS) (usually found in respective Device forum)
    3. .ALX and .COD files of the Application you what to load.
.JAR and .JAD files cannot be loaded this way. Those must be loaded via OTA(Over the Air)

Navigate to the Applications Loader Highlighted with the Red Box and Select it.

Then you can Select the Next Button. If Prompted; Enter your Password Here.

This is the Device Application Selection Screen.
This screen will tell you three things: Application Name, Action(Install,Remove,None),Size.
    Select the Add button.

Now you have a new window that will allow you to navigate to .ALX that is needed to load the application/game/theme.
A: Find the .ALX file for the application/game/theme you would like to load.
B: Once found select the Open button

Once opened the application/game/theme should show up in the list of applications.
Also make sure the box is checked on the left hand side, and that the Action says INSTALL
    Now you can select NEXT

This screen should show all the Applications/Games/Themes that are going to be loaded or removed.
A: Double Check that the actions that are going to be performed are what you want.
B: If everything checks out select FINISH.

To remove applications from the device you can just uncheck the box on the left hand side.
If you want to keep the application and load it back at a later time just leave it unchecked.

Once the Box is unchecked, you can remove the application from the list with the DELETE button located next to the ADD button. The button will be grayed out until the box is unchecked.

Hopes this helps everyone new to the community!

I'm very new to BB and the Telco here in Colombia supplies the guide book only in Spanish !! This Forum is great but the form and structure of this article from RedDog187 is a piece of Excellence. The best I have seen anywhere. Thanks

very nice Reddog, what is the advantage of removing themes and apps via the DTM, rather than going to adv opt/app list and deleting them that way, besides the hassle of the reset?
