Smile Synchronize folders other than the inbox on the BlackBerry

    Concept of folder redirection

Basically the phone synchronizes itself with the default folders (inbox, sent items... ) of the e-mail servers, now when users add subfolders to organize the e-mails on the e-mail client the emails in those folders do not get directed to the BlackBerry phone. Folder Redirection is basically specifying additional folders to be synchronized with the phone.

Folder redirection works only with the OS version 4.0 and above

Setting up folder redirection can be done via the Smartphone itself, BlackBerry Desktop Manager or via the BES - link

    OS version 4.0 – 4.5

    1. From the Home screen of the BlackBerry smartphone, click Messages.

    4. Select the folder that receives new email messages and any additional folders to be redirected to the BlackBerry smartphone.
    5. Press the Menu key and click Select Folder.

Note: If the Expand option cannot be selected for any of the folders, or if the Select Folder option is not available, turn off the Wireless Reconcile option on the BlackBerry smartphone and then turn it on again. To access the Wireless Reconcile option, click Messages, then press the Menu key and click Options > Email Reconciliation. Press the Menu key and click Save.
