also i haven't uploaded any additional programs on my phone.. i usually recieve a text message of some sort and the phone gets the 523 error... any advice? .. if its not the hardware then what is it?... i've changed the phone 7 times, changed my sim card once... don't know what to do anymore... also recently my phone has been having problem with its address book.. it dosn't recognize the callers from my address book and only shows their numbers on my phone... i was told that i should go to the options menu, choose smart dialing and change area code to +44 ... it dosn't work and i'm still having the same problems... any advice?
I would back up the info to the pc and run an application loader to reload the software. When you do so select the option to erase all application and do not select the option to automatically back up and restore. Then when it has finished and you have a completely info free phone go into the DM:
1) Select back up and restore
2) Select restore
3) Select the back up file you previously backed up, and press open
4) When you get to the area that warnes it will replace all info press cancel
5) Select advanced
6) This will split the screen into two portions, the left is the backup file, the right the device memory select address book on the left and then press the arrow to pass it to the right
7) Once done refresh, the right side should now match the right
8) Transfer back one by one the DATA ONLY using the same method ( address book, calander, content store, messages, mms messages, service book and sms messages)

That should resolve the issue. All JVM errors are software errors, sometimes a file gets corrupted and the only way to avoid the issue returning is to either not reload any info or to do the advanced restore and only transfer the info not the backup file itself. Hope this helps.

jmpromo

Welcome to the stacks.

you can check post #3 in this thread for the link to download JL_CMDER. Are you sure this is what you need - this application wipes all traces of software (including operating system) from your device.

Welcome to PinStack .

A javaloader wipe will basically set the memory to the default unwritten state. Unless you have a recent back up to restore from after reloading the Device Software, you will loose everything.

Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

Question Re: jvm error 523 - Need help

Completely frustrated. I'm ready to walk into the Verizon store and throw my phone at the next available representative.
I bought this phone a week ago online - got it and thought "Wouldn't it be nice to have some sweet new themes on my brand new phone?" and decided to unlock the themes on the phone using some internet instructions. Come to find out, doing so causes this model (Pearl 8130) to become FUBARd and now it is.
Every time I even attempt to access an application, I receive an error something like "Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(87) is not responding. Process will be terminated." and two seconds later I get the App 523 Error/Reset screen. This sick cycle is driving me insane.

I've tried everything mentioned in these posts..
Uninstalled and reinstalled the desktop software and the handheld software, and when I connect my BB now it just tells me that there are no supported files on my computer to be transferred to or from my phone and to contact my wireless provider.
Tried deleting the vendor.xml document in the appLoader folder to "trick" the desktop software into believing it's a new device and reinstalling the OS.
Tried the javaloader (too bad I don't remember how in the world to use DOS) to no avail.

Nothing is working.

Honestly I'm lost. I'm not technologically/intellectually deficient or anything, but I'm starting to think this phone might just be too much technology for me.

Any suggestions?

With a 7100i, I'm guessing Nextel, but it could be the Canadien Mike Network. You can find it by following the link for your carrier in this thread, BlackBerry Desktop and Device Software Download Sites.
