When was the last time you switched jobs?

I've just gotten a job offer for a job a recently interviewed for . I'm waiting to hear if they will sweeten the deal a little with my counter offer. I'm so nervous! Leaving a place after 5 years is weird!

I'd like to know, when was the last time some of the fellow stackers switched jobs?

What was it like going somewhere new?

Re: When was the last time you switched jobs?

When I started my current job, about a year and a half ago. I am thinking of branching off and forming my own company by then end of the year. Mainly consulting and contracting work. Who knows, I'm still young.

Its always fun starting somewhere new. I hate when a job becomes mundane and it seems like you are doing the SAME thing everyday. If I ever get like that here, I know that means it's time to do something else.

I know the feeling. I want to leave my company but they don't want me to leave. Just offered me the #2 position in Atlanta but I want to strike out on my own. I'm only thinking stability or possible broke and starving!

Hey Mikey as long as they keep adding dollars to the check stay. Title changes always look good and add a lot when going to other companies. Just think of the extra peons you'll have.

Re: When was the last time you switched jobs?

I just took a new job at Cigna in Philadelphia. I was working for GE, but they couldn't match Cigna's offer, which was considerably higher. It does bring a big change though, because I will now be working in Philly instead of CT.

Re: When was the last time you switched jobs?

I was working for a company in VA a few years back that was sold and closing shop. That was the worst. I think the worst part about a new job is not knowing what is and is not ok. When you have been with a company and co workers for awhile you know what is ok and what is not. My job never seems to get mudane.
