    Transferring Outlook email

    Hello Stackers!
I need your help with a little task I have. I'm doubting this is possiblen but I have more confidence with our forum that I do with Comcast tech support ( sorry if I offended any Comcast tech employees!!)
Up until yesterday, my wife and I shared one laptop for personal use. I set it up to have her email goto Outlook, and all my addresses to goto Outlook Express. Well we got her a new laptop, which I have already configured to receive her email on. Is there ANY way to transfer all her sent emails as well as items in her inbox over to Outlook on her new computer, short of forwarding each and every one?
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks!!!!!

    Re: Transferring Outlook email

Todd, It's really fairly easy to do this. Open Outlook on the old laptop and make sure you have the folders list displayed. Right Click on Outlook Today - [Personal Folders] and select Properties. Then Click on advanced. In the File thingy (good geek term) it will list the file name of her PST file. Find this file and copy it to the new Laptop.

Once copied you have to set up the new Outlook to use this file. Go to Tools/Options/Mail Setup and click on the Data Files button. Click on Add and Ok when it shows Personal Folders. Now navigat to the location you save her pst file, select it and click OK. You may want to delete the default PST that was created when you installed Outlook, unless you've alreaded added contacts to it. Then just click close or OK as necessary to get back to the main Screen and check if everything worked.

Let me know if you need more help

Rcb, I'm more impressed by you every day! I will give this a whirl after feeding the baby!
By the way, you'll probably be jealous. My brother in law is heading to Chicago tomorrow and is going to Medieval Times, which I believe was in the movie, "The Cable Guy"

Hey, Todd, Did you get a chance to try this? How about an update on the status, or any more questions.

    Curious

    Re: Transferring Outlook email

You know, I love my wife. But after spending quite a bit of time creating the .pst's, she says to me " you know, I should just really clean out my email, and start fresh" So suffice it to say, you hit the nail on the head, and anyone needing to do this should follow RCB's instructions to the letter. However, confirm your spouse wants it done! =)
    Thanks so much RCB!!!!
