SMS-SI/WAP PUSH to launch the Zimbra ME client?

A quick search, both here and on Google, turned up a whole lot of nothing much, and I'm not sure this belongs in this forum as opposed to BES or my Carrier, but I'm sure someone will move it...

I don't want people's mail on their handhelds if I can avoid it, and I don't want to spend $4k on BES.

They're working on a J2ME native client for Zimbra, which I'm looking at deploying, and I'm finding hints, but a dearth of actual information, suggesting that I can craft some sort of notification message that I could send to a handset which would a) not waste space in the Messages app, and b) launch or focus their Z2ME client.

1) Is that true?

2) How much do I have to pay RIM to admit it? :-)
