    Http connection in 8100

    Advertisement

    Hello,
    I have brought a new 8100 pearl and Installed an application which is working properly in 7230 But I am unable to send data to any server from my application in 8100. The url is opening properly in the browser but Its not working through the application. Shall I need to change any settings in 8100 to allow my application to send data to server ?
    I wrote the code as

    HttpConnection con = (HttpConnection)Connector.open(url);
    DataInputStream din = con.openDataInputStream();
    int i;
    String response=null;
    while((i=din.read())!=null)
    {
    response=response+(char)i;
    }
    System.out.println("Response from Server is "+response);

    Thanks in advance

    First question... did you set up the TCP options?

    kamal.hasanj, Welcome to PinStack.

    I believe the Pearl requires apps developed with or at least compiled with the new JDE 4.2 You might try do download that JDE and use it to re-create the installation files.

    Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help with this problem or your BB.

    Hi,

    I have the same problem.
    I build a midlet that use http request to a webapp. The midlet work fine in few devices including a blackberry 7960 but not work in the 8700. I use BlackBerry JDE 4.2.1 to compile the java code.

    Also I can't view the url with the blackberry browser due to security issue with the gateway. I need use the internet browser to view the url.
    Any idea? May be the midlet http go thru the gateway?
