    Google Earth---What IS This?

    So I have been playing with google earth for a little bit today for work, and came across something I haven't either seen or paid attention to before, or it was just added in the most recent update of GE.

    My question is: On the toolbar on the left hand side at the bottom it says "DG Coverage".

    So I clicked on that and all these different colored boxes of different sizes popped up on the picture (See below).

    I tried going to the website and seeing what "DG Coverage" meant, but I couldn't find it anywhere...

    Question is, what is DG Coverage and what is the significance of the different colored boxes?

    It is called Digital Globe coverage. Basically it is gridding so you can catalog certain areas and images. That is my understanding of it.
