Any experts out there on exchange server or windows server 2003? i am a desktop tech and have not worked on too many server setups. i've built a server before and did a basic install of 2000 server. i was approached by a friend that wants to share outlook calendars and i came up with exchange. he only has one desktop and 2 laptops.

any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: exchange server 2003 help

If there are only 3 systems, hosting Exchange on site is highly cost prohibitive, unless you're stealing it. Which you shouldn't be.

That said, if this person really wants an exchange environment, I would suggest buying a hosted plan. Just change the MX for his domain over to that of the mail host and you're all set. They can use RPC over HTTP to connect to the exchange server and have full outlook/exchange functionality.
