What's the difference between identical OS4.5 versions?

I'm running OS 4.5.0.55 (81) Platform 2.7.0.68 on my 8310, which i downloaded from the Austrian link published somewhere in this forum.

Now my own carrier, O2 UK/Ireland, have just published their 'carrier - accredited' version. Looking at the file it seems exactly the same version as the above, which had been around already for a couple of months.

I'm not all that happy with the above version (some battery, memory and SIM card issues), so I'm thinking of changing over to my carrier-specific version, but I wonder is there any difference in comparison to what i have already?

Can anyone tell me if there is and what the benefit would be of running my own carrier's version (if any).

    Thanks!

Do you know if the platform version is the same?
It could very well be that they had an issue that was resolved with a spin of the OS build, but kept the same app's version - doesn't happen often, but could have.
(maybe download it and see what's in the package).
