    Question Vendor.xml content

Done some searching and not finding what I need. Lets see if you guys can beat RIM on this one.

Unlike most people who need to delete/rename vendor.xml to do what they need to do, I need a copy of this file as BES references it for Carrier info. Trouble is the only copies I can find are blank/1 line ones.

I want to add in the right tags to tell BES what carrier I'm using, but I don't know what the tags should be. I'm downloading different carriers s/w but is taking ages!

Does anyone have a copy of the content of vendor.xml they can post for me to peruse?

    Thanks in advance.
    Miles.

    Re: Vendor.xml content

Download and install any OS. Try US Cellular's 8130 as it's the latest OS available.

Once you've installed the OS, you'll find the file under:
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader\Vendor.xml

Yeah I tried that. So far all the OS's I've installed haven't updated Vendor.xml (or have updated it blank)

I've got a few different OS's downloading to install but RIM's site seems to be running awful slow today so I'm still waiting on that.

I'm gonna delete my file and reinstall some OS i have, maybe that will do it.

    Re: Vendor.xml content

ok. i renamed my current vendor.xml and installed the latest TMUK code for the 8800. Vendor.xml was recreated, but it's still just as blank as before.

So it's definately updating the file, it just isn't populating it.

Will wait on this other software downloading then try that.

Out of interest, does anyone know what happens to vendor.xml when you install code from more than one carrier? Does it just list the latest you installed?

Do you have Desktop Manager installed?

The Zip file below has Cellular One's 8130 I mentioned above.

Thanks Jerry, I installed some Voda software which has done the trick. I'd forgotten how that file looked, it references lots of carriers, not just the one you install.

Not having a good day, but it;s working now.
