If you do not delete the vendor file your desktop manager should not recognize the new OS for your device so you will not be able to install it.

    Ok, here is my problem

a new update from telcel mexico is available for the bold, but when trying to install it desktop manager crashed, so i download one from rogers, deleted the vendor.xml file and did the update.

I did a backup of all my info, restore the backup an everything seemed to work fine until i tried to make a phone call, now to every number i try to dial the phone adds the prefix +1 and im not able to make any call.

any idea on how to solve this?
    thanks.

Try this....not sure about the bold menus but something like this...

Go into your call log, then press Menu and Options. Scroll down to Smart Dialing. Make sure your country code, area code, and national number length are all correct....
